I'm not sure what the hell to expect if they don't make the playoffs. Guess it depends on how it all goes down. If they get back into it and fall short it could go one way, if they look like this all year you'd have to figure one of KW or Ozzie will go.

I think it's way to early for this talk. No doubt Ozzie blew it tonight. But Ozzie's not the problem. The biggest culprit right now is lack of hitting. Everyone has an opinion on different line ups etc, but when the only player hitting on your team the last week or so is Erstad, you're going to lose some games..

 

The Sox will need to average more then 4 runs per game to get to the playoffs. I don't even think they're at that right now.

With first base open and two outs in the eighth, Guillen elected to pitch to Torii Hunter and Hunter delivered a game-tying single off David Aardsma that extended Hunter's hitting streak to 22 games.

Behind [Hunter] isn't Ozzie Guillen hitting. It's [Michael] Cuddyer. We have to respect that. [Hunter] has a lot of speed and Cuddyer can hit the ball out of the park or into the gap and can score [Hunter]. He got the hit, good for him. The only thing he can do is tie it, and he did."

 

In the 10th, Andrew Sisco allowed a leadoff double to Luis Castillo. With one out, Masset relieved Sisco and intentionally walked Hunter before inducing Cuddyer to foul out to first.

 

Guillen elected to have Masset pitch to Morneau, who had snapped the Twins' streak of 189 consecutive at-bats without a homer with a shot off Vazquez in the second.

 

Morneau ended the suspense when he launched a 444-foot shot over the right-field wall.

I'm sure some will blame Iguchi (from both sides of the field, offensively and defensively)...

 

And Aardsma looked really shaky out there as well. Not sure that he's closer material. I know MacDougal isn't, not for the White Sox. It's just like Kip Wells in 2002 and 2003. He wouldn't have put up those same stats with the White Sox...MacDougal might have saved 21/24, but it was Doug Jones/Joe Borowski-esque. Always a high-wire act on the precipice of disaster, and many of those saves were 2-3 run leads where he would give up a run or two but still get the save.
