Erstad's OPS now sits at .640. Of course, he'll bunt a runner over next week and drive in a run on a 1-for-4 night, and everyone will be gah-gah over him again.

 

We need a CFer. Let's let Erstad play in a role he'd be perfectly acceptable in as the 4th OFer, and hopefully Kenny can get the Sox a real CFer by July.

it seems like every single hitter that comes up in our system starts out with that same, long, slow, loopy swing. it really sucks.

It may be my imagination, but there appeared to be something different about Sweeney's swing his last AB.

 

I'll have to pay closer attention his next time up. From first glance, his three swings just didn't look right.

sweeney has had a high contact low power swing his entire minor league career. he is the exact opposite of what we usually bring up. if his swing gets magically longer, and they start to talk up his new found power then you know what happened.

i never saw his swing in AAA or anything like that. so all i can go by is past prospects and their swings and sweeny's. When crede first came up, looppy swing; anderson, looopy swing; borchard, delux slow loopy swing; ect.

 

i'm not saying Walker is a good hitting coach or anything, just bringing up an observation.
