5/21 Game(s)

Featured Replies

Don't have further info but Brian was substituted for the bottom of the 3rd in Charlotte's game vs. Toledo.

Sweeney is there and has K'd twice and he's playing CF after Anderson was pulled.

Toledo put up a 5 spot and leads 5-2. Owens has a double and single thus far for the Knights.

I Think there is legitimate reason to at least speculate that he could be on the verge of getting deal in a deal that brings the Sox back more than one guy that would fit on the 40 man roster (or it could just be an injury).

Either way I like speculating.

Hmmmm....I hope not dealt, but calling him up isn't exactly providing us with a huge addition, long loopy swings we have plenty of already.

With Pedro leaving, watch to see if Getz gets called up to Charlotte.

Anderson injured his shoulder, not sure which one, how serious, etc. No further details right now.

Getz really needs to define himself this year as a legit prospect or basically another Pedro Lopez (minor league fodder/possible utility man, but nothing too important.) I have always liked him because of his high OBP, great baseball IQ, versitilty (can play SS) and lack of strikeouts. He can really put himself on the Sox map if called up to AAA because looking at our bench right now, we could use some help. And to have a player with Getz's capabilities high OBP/low K's off the bench is pretty valuable. I realize Cintron is dealing with some issues, but he is horrible right now and not great at short, so you got a couple options Andy Gonzalez or if Getz can hit at AAA, Getz. But he is a prototypical grinder player and you know the Sox like his type.

Just what we need, if he had a trade value that is gone with a shoulder injury if its serious. Let's hope not and that he continues to hit because he will likely never be back with the White Sox in a serious role.

Getz not playing for BHam tonite.

More bad news .... Getz started but hurt his ankle and was pulled from the game.

Charlotte lost 6 to 5 in 11 innings and also of note, Bret Prinz did not pitch for the Knights. Bukvich went 2 innings.

This thread is nothing but speculation

Getz got hurt last night, and Brian got hurt tonight, just for clarification. Getz has an ankle and Brian screwed up his shoulder/neck area, they weren't really sure.

Carter was quiet tonight for once (0 for 3 with a walk), Schnur was 1 for 3 with 2 walks, Cunningham 1 for 3 with a walk and sac fly, Ricks 1 for 4, Shelby 1 for 4 and an RBI, Lucy 0 for 5 as he's slumping a bit. Owens 2 for 5 with a double, run, walk, k, and CS, Fields 1 for 4 with a run, 2 RBI, a walk, and hit by pitch. Sweeney 1 for 5 with a 2 run single and 3 k's.

Vasquez was REALLY good tonight for the Knights (2 IP scoreless, 1 hit), as was Bukvich. No Prinz but he did throw 27 pitches last night in a inning that had 2 hits and 3 k's. Broadway finished with a 5 in every category except 3 walks (yeesh) and got a ND. Wing (1.2 IP scoreless, 1 hit, 1 k) and Day (1 scoreless, 2 k) were great in relief, but Whisler was meh (5.1 IP, 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 2 walk, 3 k). Rodriguez and Torres were great for W-S, and Rasner was good for Kanny.

Umm Cunningham was 1 for 3 with a HR and had 2 runs but only 1 RBI. So no he did not have a sac fly. He did have a walk though but 2 K's

Damn that's a shame. Hopefully it's nothing serious, because he was starting to build up a little momentum.

I think it was a Nancy Kerrigan/Tanya Harding hit by one of Ozzeroo's henchmen.
