Gonzalez, Day Called Up

Featured Replies

Day is good, but he is giving up too many hits per innings. Prinz would be a better choice, Day still needs more seasoning in my opinion. But I guess I was right when I said awhile back he would be up before the all-star break.

Day really just had a bad three game stretch. Good to see him called up, not to excited about Gonzalez though.

We didnt need a power arm, we needed a veteran with major league experience who can throw strikes. Day is not that, but Prinz is that. I just don't get it.

Super....more minor league talent on the big league roster!

Didn't Day get replaced as the closer?

I'm stoked to see Day up here. He's got major league stuff, but I'm not sure if he has major league command yet.

Sounds like he'll fit in with our bullpen perfectly. Ozzie needs to make sure he only faces righties.

He'll fit right in with the majority of the bullpen.

Actually he was more successful against lefties in the minors than righties. I would rather him face lefties since righties will see his slider for slightly longer and have a better chance of laying off it.

:cheers

Maybe it's me, but usually righty sliders pitchers get destroyed by lefty hitters, but they can dominate righty hitters.

Mike Jackson is available. He throws sliders.

Where was this awesome slider I kept hearing about? I was really excited to see it, but it really wasn't anything special.

He does have a nice live fastball though.

And Andy Gonzalez is useless. All teams need 5 reserve infielders.

Day should not pitch for this team again this year.

Williams is desperate. He decided to call-up the reliever with the best-stuff over someone such as Prinz who is the more complete pitcher.

Day's presence just reminded everyone who forgot that instant success and White Sox prospects don't go together.

Or a 1.56 WHIP in AA.

That typically doesn't translate either.

Or the 2 WHIP away from BHam.

A weird combo....a somewhat inspired callup in a gay like Day who has the stuff to get major league hitters out (those yearning for Prinz make me laugh, he's nothing) and also a pathetic callup to pander to Ozzie in Gonzalez.

Why pass over Vasquez?

can anyone answer my question? Where was Day's awesome slider?

The same mystical land where Masset's 'tick below Jenks' fastball lives.

I had no idea!

What the Sox need is at least one solid veteran reliever (someone that can teach this young arms a thing or two) that isn't named Cooper (because he can only do so much).

We need an outfielder and we need a reliever.
