September 20, 200718 yr Yost is a piece of crap. Did he really intentionally walk Berkman earlier to get to CLee?
September 20, 200718 yr Fathom, how many games do you think Yost has cost the Brewers this year? Assuming they had an average manager in his place.
September 20, 200718 yr Author Where the f*** was that 1-2 pitch to Pence? I can't believe they didn't walk Pence, as he has too much speed to hit into a double play anyways. It's hard to tell how many games a manager has cost a team, but his inability to adjust to his players is as bad this year as Ozzie's was last year. His decision to put Counsell at 3rd in the 7th inning cost them the game.

September 20, 200718 yr Author Matt Wise's ERA after the ASB was over 7 coming into this game. There's so much stuff I want to say right now about what I hope happens, but that would probably get me banned.

September 20, 200718 yr Author I had no idea this guy, in the Linebrink trade, was doing so well. This just pisses me off even more. WHarris...this has the chance to be the worst type of baseball day possible. Cubs win, Sox win, Brewers lose, Az wins, SD loses, Phils lose. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8076
September 20, 200718 yr Am I the only one here that isn't worried one bit about the Cubs making the playoffs? Has anybody really watched this team all year? They are so not built for playoff baseball it isn't even funny. They're not at all fundamentally sound. They don't play great, or even good, defense. They struggle to manufacture runs on a consistent basis. They have no speed outside of Theriot. Does anybody really think a starting staff of Zambrano, who's been hit or miss all year, Lilly, a youngster in Rich Hill, and Jason Marquis is a championship caliber rotation? The only reason we're even still talking about the Cubs is because they're in the most pathetic division in baseball. They would've been out of it weeks ago in any other divison. Trust JFL when he says this: the Cubs will be exposed in a big way come playoff time.

September 20, 200718 yr QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Sep 20, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) Rowand, the Phillies offense would murder the Cubs' pitching staff. Maybe, but the Cubs offense would murder that awful pitching staff of the Phillies. The Cubs would win a series against the Phils in the playoffs(and I think at most the Phils could take one game) but the Cubs wouldn't beat any of the other NL contenders. Obviously that's jmo.

If the Phillies get in, the Cubs face the Mets while Philly plays Arizona. If San Diego gets in, the Cubs face Arizona while the Mets face San Diego. Pretty simple really. Of course, Philly winning the East doesn't help much; thus, fathom and willie are hoping the Mets win it and Philly wins the Wild Card. Edited September 20, 200718 yr by witesoxfan

September 20, 200718 yr Author QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Sep 20, 2007 -> 06:18 AM) Am I the only one here that isn't worried one bit about the Cubs making the playoffs? Trust JFL when he says this: the Cubs will be exposed in a big way come playoff time. One of my worries is that in the playoffs, Marmol would be used 2 innings a game. No one touches him, and he might be the most dominant reliever in baseball right now. I also have no faith at all in the offense of the DBacks or Padres to score enough in an extended series to beat them. It would be real nice if Chris Young, the pitcher, could get back to his dominant self.
September 20, 200718 yr Author Another inexcusable play I remembered from last night...Yost let Bush hit in the 7th, even though he wasn't starting the inning. Now, the problem I have is that he let him run on the bases instead of putting in a pr for him (with expanded rosters, this should be a no-brainer). Instead, Bush is unable to score on a 2 out double by Dillon on a play that a speedier base runner likely scores on. Just another play in one of the worst managed games in history.

September 21, 200718 yr Author I'm sure glad that Damien Miller is still on the Brewers. His .465 OPS since the ASB has just been so valuable to that team. Michael Rivera has more homers than he does since the ASB in only 3 at-bats.
