Exatly right Tony. Anything can happen and the Hawks have been looking pretty damn good. I still wish the Hawks would have gotten another top 5 forward but oh well too late to worry about that. Thankfully Ladd has looked pretty solid thus far.

And importantly, Savard actually likes Ladd, so he's going to use him.

 

That line of Ladd - Toews - Kane, that line should be a building block for this team for a long time.

 

And also, we have to re-sign Jason Williams. He is injury prone yes, but this team looks a lot better offensively and on the PP when he plays. And he's at around a point per game pace this season.

I still think the Hawks will fall just short of the playoffs this year, but this season has definitely still been a step or two in the right direction.

On the ice and off, the interest and excitement is back for the Hawks, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
