February 1, 200818 yr Topic says it all. My office in Schaumburg closed today. How many other Soxtalkers were lucky enough to get a free paid day off thanks to the snow?
February 1, 200818 yr Took 2-1/2 hours to get towork and I was the last one here. No snow day in manufacturing.
February 1, 200818 yr We are getting to leave at 12. Which is odd because it stopped snowing but whatever.
February 1, 200818 yr I could have stayed home today...but there is no way I was going to be paid for it unless I used a vacation day. But I kind of have to be here, so I do what I can to be here.
February 1, 200818 yr If the boss makes it here, which is me, then we work! And I don't get stuck in snow. Wife doesn't get snow days either. Kinda hard since her office is 30 feet from our bedroom! Enjoy your day.
February 1, 200818 yr I don't have classes on Friday anyways but no snow day for SIU. However, Southern Illinois people are definitely afraid of snow, it snowed a bit but pretty much every high school and grade school in the area is closed.

February 2, 200818 yr No snow day for me. Took 2 hrs to get to work. Which was only half the time it took me to get home from work Thursday night.
February 2, 200818 yr Yesterday was a f'ing experience.I have a Chrysler 300,this car cannot drive in the snow!I was stuck moving back and forth out my garage for like an hour!Just out of my f'ing garage! Then the way the snow was sloped it had me drifting into all the garbage cans every time I hit the gas to go in reverse or drive!Scraped the whole side of my car! Then all the god damn speed bumps throughout the whole alley made it into a big f'ing winter time circus!
February 5, 200818 yr I wonder if the storm that is expected for tomorrow really will drop 6" of snow on us.
February 5, 200818 yr QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) I wonder if the storm that is expected for tomorrow really will drop 6" of snow on us. The projections I heard this morning are upto a foot to the north and west, 3-6 inches to the south.
February 5, 200818 yr Being as far north as you can be, and towards the west, I told my bosses this morning to not expect me here tomorrow. I'll be bringing my work home with me and planning to work from home tomorrow. I've battled the snow enough between last year and this year, I'm taking a break tomorrow.
