September 18, 200817 yr QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) Where is Adam Russell? I mean if we're doing late year tryouts for RH relief lets get him an extended look. Scoreless outings against TB and BOS amidst some clunkers recently. Has a K-rate, if nothing else. Maybe he's become the Brian Anderson of the pitching staff.
September 18, 200817 yr Royals are on a 6 game winning streak, they've won 7 of their last 10 games :/
September 18, 200817 yr QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) Royals are on a 6 game winning streak, they've won 7 of their last 10 games :/ They're still the royals
September 18, 200817 yr QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) Royals are on a 6 game winning streak, they've won 7 of their last 10 games :/ The Royals have been playing the Indians and the Mariners.

Scoreless outings against TB and BOS amidst some clunkers recently. Has a K-rate, if nothing else. He's just not pitched well this season. Of course, most of the bullpen has sucked lately too, so we'll probably see Adam a time or two in the next few games. Right now, they seem to be leaning towards MacD (which is a little scary, but understandable given the numbers) over Russell or Wassermann. Logan has all but disappeared.
September 19, 200817 yr I really hope that Tiggers rain out doesn't matter, but something tells me the Sox are going to have to win their last two games of the year to make the playoffs... and that's not easy.
September 19, 200817 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 06:54 AM) 84-68 +1.5 games over MN If we just won 3-4 from the Yanks to get here, that would sound awesome. Same situation but momentum is everything.
September 20, 200817 yr Sox beat Royals ending their 7 game winning streak. Dwayne Wise hits 2 HR's , Alexei Ramirez hit his 3rd Grand Slam of the season making it only the 2nd time in baseball history a rookie has done that. Jim Thome hit the 540th of his career. The Twinkies lose 11-1 to Tampa Bay so the Sox now lead the division by 2.5 games with an 85-68 record. Magic # 7. Mark Buehrle pitched 6 innings giving up 3 runs on 6 hits , K's 2 , 1 BB . He improved to 3-1 lifetime when pitching on short rest. Buehrle is now the only active pitcher to record 10 wins, 30 starts and 200 innings in eight consecutive seasons. September 20, 200817 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) 85-68 +2.5 games over MN Kansas City, Detroit, and Cleveland are all officially eliminated. KC and DET, easy to see...but the Cleveland elimination is very subtle. Basically, the Twins vs. Sox series eliminates the possibility that neither the Sox nor the Twins finish with 86 or more wins, eliminating Cleveland even if they won out.
September 21, 200817 yr Sliding into Minnesota 2.5 games up, If I am doing my math correctly 3 wins clinches the division 2 wins - Magic Number 1 1 Win - Magic number 3 0 Win - Twins Magic Number 3
September 22, 200817 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 06:23 AM) 86-69 +2.5 games over MN. I think it's important to note that we're 3 up in the loss column as well.
September 24, 200817 yr Regardless of who wins this division, the comment I put on my signature a couple months ago is going to prove to be accurate. I am pretty sure the winner of tonight's game, no matter who it is, will win this division. Edited September 24, 200817 yr by whitesoxfan101
