May 25, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jim Spencer @ May 25, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) I figured some one would have started one I guess he was coming home from Ricky Williams' house I think that it's in the NBA Catch-All.... No wait... the Bulls draft thread. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=1647067
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Brian @ May 25, 2008 -> 06:00 PM) No big deal, IMO. Wasn't driving or a threat to anyone. Just breaking the law and doing drugs. No big deal.
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) Just breaking the law and doing drugs. No big deal. Basically, yeah.
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2008 -> 11:15 AM) Just breaking the law and doing drugs. No big deal. I could think of a lot of "legal" things he could have done that would be far worse than this.
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) Just breaking the law and doing drugs. No big deal. He had a cup of cognac while out on the street, breaking the open container law, and a joint in a cigerette pack I think they said. Not good true, but far from a major offense worthy of an outcry from the public about the "thugass" Noah. The police said he was very cooperative, and not wasted at all. A young foolish mistake, nothing major!
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) Another reason that drafting Beasley might not be a bad idea... Two things. Noah is a center. Beasley in the NBA will probably wind up at SF. Noah is good. He actually had an impressive rookie season. This won't be the end of him in a Bulls uniform. His slight mistake won't change the Bulls' draft strategy, nor should it.
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) Another reason that drafting Beasley might not be a bad idea... Why, because he smokes weed and likes a cocktail? The majority of players in the NBA like to do the same things.
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 27, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) Why, because he smokes weed and likes a cocktail? The majority of players in the NBA like to do the same things. Now THAT'S a generalization. Majority of NBA playes = black, so they smoke weed. Gotya. I'd say the MAJORITY of NBA players don't smoke weed, but that's just me.
May 27, 200817 yr Author It wouldn't be a big deal if he was you or me, but seeing how he is a Highly Paid athlete which represents his employer The Chicago Bulls, even in the off season, I would guess that maybe it's a big deal with some people.
May 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) Now THAT'S a generalization. Majority of NBA playes = black, so they smoke weed. Gotya. I'd say the MAJORITY of NBA players don't smoke weed, but that's just me. You are the one mentioning race. I know mostly white people and know quite a few who smoke weed. There was a SI article or some other magazine a couple of years ago that estimated a figure way higher (no pun intended) than what it would take to make a majority smoked weed. It was Charles Oakley stating 60 % of the NBA smoked weed. Josh Howard popped off about his toking because he thought it was no big deal because of the amount of players who do. May 27, 200817 yr Looks like earlier the same day Joakim Noah got pulled over and received citations for speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, and driving on a suspended license. Quite the day!
