When your middle infielders hitting 1-2 have like almost 50 HRs between them at the break, thats pretty good. Edited July 14, 200817 yr by LittleHurt05
July 14, 200817 yr Derby starting in an hour, jersey already a huge upgrade from last year's bright orange.
July 14, 200817 yr Hamilton picks 71 year old high school BP coach to be his pitcher for the derby. I know a lot of you guys don't like Hamilton for all the praise he gets even tho he had drugs problem in the past, there's something special about this guy.
July 15, 200817 yr Are trades generally avoided during the break? Has there ever been an all star traded over the break? Just curious
July 15, 200817 yr QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) Are trades generally avoided during the break? Has there ever been an all star traded over the break? Just curious '07: 0 (there were 2 small trades made on the first day back) '06: 2 (Huff was dealt the day after the ASG and that big Nats/Reds deal was completed during the final day of the AS break) '05: 3 (all 3 deals were made the day after the ASG, only decent players were involved, no one special) '04: 0 (first trade came 3 days after the break) '03: 3 (1 deal on the day of the HR Derby and another 2 on the day after the ASG) So no, trades aren't avoided during the break though I'm sure Major League Baseball purposely puts off the announcement of trades so they don't take away from the All-Star Game. At least in the last 20 years no All-Stars have been dealt during the break.

July 16, 200817 yr That inspiration speech for the National League is probably the best thing I've ever seen in the history of baseball since, well, Josh Hamilton's heroic home run exhibition yesterday.
July 16, 200817 yr Everytime I look at Justin Morneau I just want to punch him in the head. He's such a meat head looking douche that always has that arrogant smile on his face. Edited July 16, 200817 yr by Flash Tizzle
July 16, 200817 yr "And heeeeere come the pretzels!" "Hall of Famer Whitey Ford now on the field, pleading with the crowd for- for some kind of sanity." "Uh-oh, and a barrage of pretzels now knocking Whitey unconscious."
