Griffey Jr.'s batting Song (Soul Glo)

Featured Replies

LOL is this really his song? unreal, hahahahaha

I can't believe this is true. If it is I may have to re-evaluate how awesome Griff is.

umm if this is true he is going to have to bust out the gerry-curl (sp?)

He's been using that for awhile I believe.... I know he had it in Cincinnati when wiki listed the various players theme songs. Nevertheless, pretty much the best batter introduction ever. Swish's Ridin' Dirty as a close second.

Just let your soooouuuuul glow baby

feeling oh so silky smooth

Just let it shine through yeah

Just let your soooouuuul glow oooo

It's my wife's fav movie. We were at the game, he comes up and she almost spit her drink on the people in front of us. It's now her ringtone.

haha wow..........although I shouldn't make too much fun of that because my song would be "If You Wanna Be Happy" by Jimmy Soul.

It was indeed his glorious song on Sunday.

Whatever it is, it seems to be working. The guy seems to be coming around at the plate.

Yes, this is an awesome battle song for Griff...made me laugh my ass off when I first heard it.

All new respect for the Kid, knowing this is true. One of the great all time comedies. Plus every time Clayton Richards pitches, I say "His mama called him Clay, I call him Clay" about 50 times.

hahahahaha i could see it now... a key situation in the game Griffey comes to the plate with Soul Glo blaring in the background....  :lolhitting

Fun fact:

Griffey was playing in the majors when Coming To America was in theaters .

I don't think so technically. Coming to America is celebrating it's 20th anniversary, as it was in theaters in 1988. Griffey didn't come to the bigs until 1989. The fact it's that close is a bit telling as to how old he is though, and how young he was when he came up.

Can you believe Eddie Murphy is the singer of that song too?

Knight might be "technically" right as it is possible it was in some $2 theater or second run theater only 1 year later.

As for Eddie singing, you never heard about his girl wanting to party all the time?
