Is that the reliable defense that Hawk was talking about? Consistently below average?

Wouldnt a HR guy by definition be able to get the ball up in the air with some decent pop? That translates into a guy who can give you a SF to me

That really does seem like the way things should be with a hitter like swish. But from my observations I've found that the higher batting average hitters have more bat control which seems to allow them to guide a sac fly to the outfield with much higher regularity than someone with a very low average, yet power. Of course Swish could hit a sac fly, but it would most likely be completely unintended and have a lower chance of occurring.

Juan "I came in hitting .180" Castro now has a walk to go with his double

Not a good night for Danks. Just doesn't have it tonight. Lets hope he can stay strong down the stretch.

he is struggling. this is one of those games where he doesn't have his stuff but the Sox need him to minimize the damage and try to get around the 7th with 3 or 4 runs allowed.

:huh

Well this isnt good

Markakis is probably going to break this one wide open.

???

Suposted to rain in b-more soon.

BTW, our 3rd basemen are 1 for their last 18.

come on JOHNNY!!!!!!!

got out of it only giving up one

Big outs there to keep us in the game. What's the actual radar looking for Baltimore?

Good job minimizing the damage. Im not sure i'd run Danks out there for thr 5th though at this point

Danks off tonight, who s pitching for the O's?Jim Palmer?

Ya, this lineup really misses CQ.

how in the world dream matchups go the opposite of what's expected with this team baffles me???

By the way, this guys best start ever was 5IP 4H 2ER 3BB

What does that have to do with the law of averages? Its pure statistical fact that the twins are above the mean with RISP.

Simple, there have been plenty of analyses done over the last 10-15 years showing how many times team from the bottom and 3rd quartile have made the playoffs in MLB.

The odds aren't very high. Beyond the Marlins, A's and Twins, it hasn't happened at all. That also is a statistical fact. Payroll doesn't guarantee the Yankees a championship, or the Dodgers, or the Mets, but it doesn't give them an exponentially BETTER opportunity to make it.

Come on Lance.

We've hit the ball very hard.

Mora is sucking everything up at 3B.

Well, when we don't get it done against a medicore SP, this is what happens.

I actually commend Oz here for taking out Danks and not rolling the dice for another inning

s***ty outing by danks, but yet again the O failed to back him up.

for f***s sake, get the 3rd out

Judging by box score, seems John didn't have his control tonight. I'll forgive him. He's been so good this year. Just don't let it happen again.

You asked what happened earlier in the thread. Are you watching the game, or just following online?

I'm watching...have work to do at home though that takes me out of the den so I missed some stuff.

Wow, what a freaking joke. This defense is pathetic. Look how deep Griffey was playing JUAN f***ING CASTRO!
