October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) So did the league just figure Fukodome out, or was he never really that good? He's worse than Nick Swisher. And that's pretty bad. Thanks to Soxtalk at a Christmas Dinner of friends last year I look really smart when I stated Ramirez was a better pick up than Fukodome. I said that really, not sure I believed it but it made everyone feel better.
October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) This isn't even close to the same Dodger offense the Cubs saw. I tried to tell my dumbass Cub slurping friends. They know now. Manny completely changes the complexion of a lineup. The Dodgers have a lot of solid hitters and those guys just all seem to produce more when you stick a hitter of Manny's caliber in a lineup. They get more chances with guys on base and see better pitches. Plus a return from Furcal and you suddenly have a very strong lineup. And it doesn't hurt that Lowe has been absolutely on fire on the mound.
October 3, 200817 yr This is really unbelievable. The Dodgers have just straight up PUNKED the scubs. Which team won 97 games again?
October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) The boos get louder every inning. So those ARE boos? I mean, it just sounds weird, kind of a low drone. Are people just sitting and booing for a half-hour at a time? It's just a real strange sound.
October 3, 200817 yr With the off day the cubs are going to have to score against the big guns. Anyone hear the excuses on MVP 1000 this morning for why Dempster blew last night. He was too amped up.
October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 11:02 PM) So those ARE boos? I mean, it just sounds weird, kind of a low drone. Are people just sitting and booing for a half-hour at a time? It's just a real strange sound. I have no idea, are those boos the entire game??
October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 04:01 AM) Marmol made Lou look like a fool last playoff season. I've said that Reynolds hitting a homer against Marmol in game 1 is the most shocking homer I've ever seen.
October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 11:01 PM) Sleepy, go post that at NSBB.com
October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) I have no idea, are those boos the entire game?? TBS trying to make it sound like the greatest fans to every set foot in a professional stadium would never turn on their team. When does the garbage come down?
October 3, 200817 yr Author Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Like they said on TV.......all these fans want to go home. They just probably can't justify leaving in the 6/7th inning after paying $500/seat. They haven't had a thing to cheer about. I'm laughing!
October 3, 200817 yr The Cubs are 0-8 all time in playoff games west of the Chicago city limits. So that is another fact not in their favor.
October 3, 200817 yr Furcal, Russell and Manny are as dangerous a combo as three guys could be in my mind with the various abilities that they have.
October 3, 200817 yr These 2 games haven't even been close,stick a fork in the sCrUBS cuz they re done.
October 3, 200817 yr Andruw, not Andrew. Damn, all we need is for Soto to overthrow on a stolen base attempt.
October 3, 200817 yr QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) Andruw, not Andrew. Damn, all we need is for Soto to overthrow on a stolen base attempt. Thanks for the late night spelling class but what is his deal. Think any cub fan wore a Nomar jersey tonight?
