Featured Replies

So my business went down in flames today. What songs should be on my iTunes playlist today?

Let's start:

Sly and The Family Stone - Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)

Whenever Iam down and out I listen to "Freebird" and that makes me feel..........well more down and out,but some how it still feels good to listen to it.

On the nose, but also on the money - God Damn Job by The Replacements!!!

:headbang

lyrics:

I need a God damn job

I need a God damn job

I really need a God damn job

I need a God damn job

God dammit

God dammit

God damn, I need a God damn job

I need a God damn girl

I need a God damn girl

I really need a God damn girl

I need a God damn girl

God dammit

God dammit

God damn, I need a God damn job

Right now right now

An honest job, if I can find one

The Victors?

Seriously though man, just economic hard times, whats the story? I admire people who have the guts to go out on their own.

I worked for a travel agency that went belly up yesterday. I don't own anything, let alone a failed business.

Ah. well it happens to everyone at some point. Dont worry, you'll find something even better.

I'm with you man, I worked for a small firm and they didn't try to diversify so work dried up. Go with Overkill by Men at Work or the solo verion by Colin Hay

My last layoff was a company where our CEO's creed was, "Ill never sell". Then he sold and we were all fired at 6:30 on a friday.

I thought you also Dj'd, wino.

Joe Cocker Feelin' Alright

Steve Winwood Back in the High Life*

Bob Marley Don't Worry Be Happy

Tom Petty I Won't Back Down

The Who We Don't Get Fooled Again

*which is what you may be drinking for a while

Get fired up, make the next job better.

And

Tom Jones You Can Leave Your Hat On

Just because it is so damn hot.

The Beatles- I am the Walrus

Just a fun song, plus it has some corporation thoughts mixed in

I left that four years ago. Funny story about how that ended. But that's for another thread and another time.

Were you fired for not knowing which songs to play when a caller chimed in and said he just lost his job?

I've got a better one.

Did someone call up and request, "Get Off The Radio", and you took his advice?

For layoff day: bis - The End Starts Today.

So I'm finding out how much volume my agency actually provided. Travel providers are staffing separate desks and hotlines to deal my agency's failure. Wow.
