Gavin, as Carmona was a sinker baller at least.

Wood on the verge of imploding again. Leadoff walk, out, walk, walk, bases loaded one out and he Ks Teahen, 2 down still loaded and he gets a K for the tension filled save

Wood is really shaken up.

He just can't throw a strike with the slider or the curveball. Can't believe Wedge can keep his job with the Indians on the verge of being 9 1/2 games off the pace...

Looks like they might have to trade Lee and DeRosa this summer.

Two outs...bases loaded, just struck out Teahen with one out and bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th.

The pesky David DeJesus at the plate. Wood survives.

KC 2 GB, Sox and MINN 5.5 GB, CLE 8.5

So Verlander has suddenly become 2001 Randy Johnson. His K/9 has to be something like 13 in his last 4 or 5 starts. This after never registering a K/9 over 8.17 in 2007 (not that that's bad) and average K rates in 2006 and last year. Performance enhancing drugs anyone? I don't think that's the case. But it just goes to show you the double standard there is. If a position player belts 10 HR's in 20 games he's automatically suspected of cheating.

outside of Gagne, barely any of the doinant relievers get questions.

So yeah, Justin Verlander looks amazing. If he can regain form and be an ace, I don't see anyone staying close to the Tigers this year in the ALC.

if all they were lacking was an ace, then I would agree.

Crede's really hitting well for the Twins now. Great move by Gardenhire batting Mauer 2nd, as they're rolling right now.

Twins just swept the Brewers. Gardenhire going out to argue a HBP/foul call just got his team 4 more runs.

Damn. I needed Cameron to get a couple of more RBI's for fantasy baseball. fielder homers in front of him making it 6-3. How many bombs is Baker going to serve this year?

    Gavin is not a fluke

I'd like to see KC sweep Detroit.

With Sidney Ponson pitching? So much for that thought.

The division is clearly Detroit's to win now.

speaking of carmona his line tonight was ugly: 1.1 IP, 3H, 5R, 5ER, 5W, 3K.

he threw 60 pitches and recorded four outs.

    era at 6.42 now.

Tribe just scored 7 runs in bottom of 9th to win vs. TB.

    Welcome back Izzy.

KC is really struggling. 4-12 in last 16 I believe.

It's all coincided with the loss of Soria, though obviously he's not the reason for this collapse. It's just a weird coincidence.

They are doing a promotion for a "sweep the Sox" weekend. Should be interesting to see how we play against a team that is sucking. It would be nice to get 2 of 3 versus the Angels first. Need one more to do that.

Greinke can go .500 with an ERA of 4 or so the rest of the season and he still might get the CY. What we're witnessing from him has now entered the land of historic.

The Tigers take the rubber match 8-3 against the Royals and in so doing...

Rick Porcello became the first Major League pitcher since Dwight Gooden to win five consecutive starts at age 20 or younger, and he fell a run shy of doing it with five straight starts of one run or none for the first time since Fernando Valenzuela in 1981.

Nick Punto is looking like a big waste of cash. He's showing less power than Delmon Young who still only has 1 double and a walkscraping HR off Buehrle (Anderson would've robbed him) as his XBH's.
