Like dick allen i am fine with carrasco... but no one should expect much better than a 5 era, 1.5 k/bb walk rate, and a whip of 1.500. Nothing indicates anything other than numbers in that range.

Wise has seperated shoulder

What's the recovery time on something like that?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:55 PM)
Where the hell were CQ and BA on that one?

Farmer said they were playing him to go to right field.

Separated shoulder for Wise. I hate to see him go out like that. I never want to see a guy get injured.

BTW, the Knights pitching has been awful so far:

Individual Stats (Pitching) (click column headers to sort)

Although the sample size is small, outside of Russell, everyone else has been below average to horrid.

early word on Wise is separated shoulder, this from Farmer and DJ

wait,what? I didnt know he got injured.

I don't know if FSN Detroit's radar is slow, but all of Thornton's pitches are clocking in at 94.

Ugh. Cmon Matt.

How long would that keep him out?

Wow, Wise is going to be out for a while, isn't he?

dear god I hope that wise's injury does not mean the return of owens

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:53 PM)
But, a key part of why we were able to get him in the first place is that his #'s in 2007 were down from his #'s in 2006 as well. So you actually had a 2 year downward trend, starting from 2007.
Actually, he was pretty much the same production-wise in 2006 and 2007. More HR and higher SLG in 2006, more doubles, higher OBP and higher average in 2007. Last year is the aberrant year, so far, especially considering his fast start this season.

I didn't really like the Swisher trade at the start, but warmed up to it based on the rave reviews I kept hearing about Marquez and Nunez. I'm slowly moving back towards not liking it, though. I'm guessing the trade was made mostly because Ozzie, KW, and/or some of the players didn't think he was a good fit.

I know the majority of this board hates Wise but it's a shame he has to go out like this.

GAS.

probably....which is why its pretty important that lillibridge has the versatility to play CF....if its prolonged maybe alexei in CF and Gordo at SS? doubt it

GAS! HE GONE!

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:51 PM)
They had a 4 run lead, I'm sure if a guy or 2 got on, they would have removed him. You cannot blow out your bullpen by the end of April.

This is very true, though i am not concerned. The sox bullpen is generally in the bottom of the league when it comes to the amount of innings pitched, which as you know is a positive.

Edited by qwerty

ALexei needs to quick swinging at everything out of the strike zone. He isn't looking good early

I really don't like Wise, but yeah, he didn't deserve to go out like that.

FIELDS!

great pick at 3rd to get guillen on a smash
