I dont think Teahen is a bad option at all. Its all about visibility, Teahen has been in relative obscurity for his entire career on the Royals, and DeRosa succeeded in a pretty demanding atmosphere and was generally known as the "glue" of the team.

But I wouldnt say no to Teahen, not at all

Would DeRosa be a type A FA after this season? I can totally see a team offering him arb. at a $5.5 million level. That'd be an easy 2 draft picks with minimal commitment.

If you're right and he's a FA after 2011, then he's an arb-eligible guy on a 1 year contract, 2 arbitration seasons remaining, so his cost appears likely to go up significantly over the next 2 years.

DeRosa won them the 2008 NL Central title. I know, big whoop.
