Konerko should have been running hard right out of the box, he thought it was gone...it wasn't.

Sign Dye for 2 more years. Put Konerko at DH next year, give JD 1 more year in RF, play Allen at 1b. 2 years from now, hope that we have a more firm replacement lined up for JD or spend some money on it (Danks2 should be ready by then).

I think 'brutal' might be overstating it by quite a bit.
