July 13, 200916 yr I was at today's game sitting in section 223. The section was all but empty by the 9th, (people here in Minnesota never stay to the end of anything, "gotta beat traffic!") so I was surprised by how loud the booing was for AJ for the last at bat of the game. It was then that I realized that they were piping in boos over the PA system. Clear as day, no doubt about it, being played over the speakers. So that is how low rent the Twins are.
July 13, 200916 yr I saw a game there in 2002 against the Angels (a precursor to the ALCS) and I liked the Metrodome. It got really loud and was a unique experience for a game. There's reasons to tear it down but I did enjoy my only experience there.
July 13, 200916 yr Yeah, that is pretty lame. Between that and the AC system trick they pull, nothing surprises me. f*** the Twins.
July 13, 200916 yr I have a feeling we're going to hate that place even more before the end of the season.
July 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 11:41 PM) I have a feeling we're going to hate that place even more before the end of the season. I'm going to love it more and more each passing day, simply because there will be no more baseball games held there in the future.
July 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 11:45 PM) I'm going to love it more and more each passing day, simply because there will be no more baseball games held there in the future. This is what I have to say to the Metrodome after September 2nd (the last game the White Sox will ever play at the Metrodome unless we somehow meet them in the ALCS). I’d rather have Nancy play it on the organ but this is close as I can get.
July 13, 200916 yr I went there friday for the whole thing, and it just felt weird -- baseball inside? I'm used to it on TV, but in person it didn't feel right. The people weren't bad or rude or anything, though. Between that and the AC system trick they pull, nothing surprises me. What AC trick?
July 13, 200916 yr This is what I'd have to say to the Metrodome, then and now. Emphasis on the chorus at about :20

July 13, 200916 yr STEVE STONE SAID SATURDAY ON THE BROADCAST THAT TARGET FIELD IS GOING TO BE A HOME RUN HITTING PARK, WHICH IS NICE TO HEAR THAT WE ARE A HOME RUN TEAM. I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE METRODOME THE SOX JUST PLAY BETTER ON GRASS PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

July 13, 200916 yr I've never been to the Metrodome, or any dome for a baseball game for that matter, but I hate watching games on TV broadcast from there. It just seems dreary. I suppose my dislike is fueled by the fact that the Sox cannot play well there. I look forward to seeing the new park next year.
July 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (sox405 @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 09:27 AM) THANK YOU GLAD TO BE HERE. Might want to deactivate the "caps lock" going forward.
July 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 06:58 AM) I do like that their ushers won't let people down the aisles during pitches. I guess for a while at Yankee Stadium if you left your seat during "God Bless America" they kicked you out of the game.

July 13, 200916 yr That surface has injured so many f***ing people needlessly, in both baseball and football games. I almost want to attend the implosion and cheer.

July 13, 200916 yr Author QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 12:02 AM) The people weren't bad or rude or anything, though. I had this lispy guy attempting to talk trash behind me the entire game. (He was quite infuriated by my Pierzynski jersey for some reason) But the genius was telling other people that Beckham wasn't very good because the Twins traded him to the Sox! I now have to live up here among these people and it is damn near as bad as Cubs fans. They don't know jack about their own team, let alone the Sox, but they sure like to run their mouths.
July 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) Might want to deactivate the "caps lock" going forward. I think you mean "billy mays."
July 13, 200916 yr QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 12:29 PM) I think you mean "billy mays." I think it's too early to make fun of Billy. He's only been dead for a couple of weeks.
