Best games you've been to

Featured Replies

Unfortunately I had to work today but it got me thinking. Which games have I attended that were the most memorable.

Here's mine in order:

1 - Game 4 of the World Series (Only post season game I ever attended unless you count my next pick)

2 - Game 163

3 - The 1993 clincher when Bo Jackson homered

4 - Late inning comeback on Frank Thomas' first game as an Athletic

5 - The first game the Sox played here after their impressive 9 - 0 road trip in 2000

blackout game was electric to be at

- Dennis Martinez Perfect Game against the Dodgers

- Mark Langston and Mike Witt Combined No Hitter

- Tony Gwynn 3000th hit

- Rickey Henderson 3000th hit

- All 3 ALCS Games in Anaheim (Sox sweep and clinch to go to the World Series in the final of the 3 games).

Game 2 of the 2005 World Series.

Game 1 of the World Series

Game 163

Robin Ventura Walk Off Grand Slam off Goose Gossage in 1991

1. Game 2 of the World Series.

2. Tie Breaker Game.

3. Game 1 of the World Series.

4. ALDS Game 1 vs. Red Sox.

5. AJ's Walk Off vs. Dodgers in the throwbacks... Summer of 05.

It was a pretty meaningless game, but the Sox-Yankees game from a while back where Carlos Lee homered off of Rivera and then Valentin won it in the 9th was amazing, as there was a long rain delay and 90 pct of the crowd was wasted by the time it ended.

But yeah, Game 163 was the best game I've ever been to. The only other game that could have topped that was Game 2 of the WS.

1. Playoff vs Bos Iguchi HR game

2. 2004 vs Twins 9th inning 2 out slumping Konerko HR to tie and Thomas for the walkoff back to back.

3. My first Sox game ever in 1983 w/ my Dad, Uncle, and friend. Fisk and Luzinski HR.

Jim Thome's walk-off 500th home run was the best game I've been to. That one was incredible.

wow - i kind of hate you.

1. Game 2 of 2005 World Series

2. Game 163 from 2008 season

3. June 28, 2002 - Comeback against Cubs fueled by Konerko's 2 HR game

That's all that really stands out in my mind right now, I've probably been to a few others when I was younger that will come back to me later.

Thomas walkoff against the Twins, Valentin walkoff against the Cubs, 1993 Clincher, Buehrle 1 hitter against the Devil Rays, Sunday game against Padres in 2005, Sunday game against the Reds in 2006, and the Saturday game against the Twins up in the dome a couple of weeks ago.

I forgot to add the big comeback game at Wrigley when AJ HRd in the 9th.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the walk off grand slam by Carlos Lee against the Cubs.

The 1983 Western Division clincher.

Frank's first game back. (SQUIRREL!)

Buehrle outduels Santana in '06 (around 2 hours).

Mark's 1:27 gem.

-When the Sox beat the Cubs in the suck fest on Saturday this year at the Cell.

-El Caballo's grand slam to beat the Cubs.

Game 163.

The AJ drop third strike ALCS game.

Sox rally from down 6 or 7 to zero to beat the Cubs

Sox getting no hit into the ninth by Dave Steib hit three straight homers then two doubles to make the game interesting.

Harold Baines hits a three run walk off homer off of Dan Quisenberry

Konerko's 3 homer game a few weeks ago

I was also at Thome's 2000th hit, and Thomas's 2000 hit.

-Game 2 2005 WS

-Today (got there very late, but who's counting?)

-Game 4 2005 WS

-Game 2 2005 ALDS

-Game 163

-Last Year Back to Back to Back to Back HR

ALCS Game 2

Nothing else really close to that for me.

Game 2 Word Series

Blackout Game

Thome 500th

Jeff Abbott walk off HR

Bo Jackson and Robin Ventura go back to back twice.

I was at a game in (I think) '83 when Kittle and Fisk both hit rooftop homers. I was in the rightfield upper deck and had the perfect view to see both balls sail over the roof.
