August 11, 200916 yr I lurked for about 5 minutes before making my first post. Some people seem to lurk a very long time before actually posting? What did you do?
August 11, 200916 yr I lurked around school playgrounds for a long time before my first posting. Seriesly though, I lurked just a little before posting. I had been a longtime WSI guy but was getting fed up with the way that was being run and was looking for something else. Soxtalk was a breath of fresh air. Edited August 11, 200916 yr by BigEdWalsh
August 11, 200916 yr Read the MLB Sox site from the sidelines for a few months before starting to post. Jumped into this site — or rather the SoxNet precursor — pretty quickly shortly after it came online since it was a much better fan board than what the MLB site had become.
August 11, 200916 yr I waited over a year until posting here. I had posted on WSI before, but when I made the switch to reading this board, I didn't sign up until some thread prompted me to. Oh man, I just looked up my 1st ever post at WSI, and I was replying to some guy's trade idea of James Baldwin, Paul Konerko, and Sandy Alomar for Paul LoDuca. Yeah, that would have worked out well... Edited August 11, 200916 yr by dasox24
August 11, 200916 yr That was almost 6 years ago. I have no idea. I got fed up with the espn boards so I think I just made a straight switch since several of those guys were posting here at the time.
August 11, 200916 yr I was registering at all kinds of message boards without hesitation. This has been my one and only White Sox message board, though.
August 11, 200916 yr I registered at WSI and got banned after two posts a couple years after registering here.
August 11, 200916 yr I read Soxtalk through a neighbor's window for 6 hours before posting. Well, I had to wait for them to fall asleep....
August 11, 200916 yr QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) I read Soxtalk through a neighbor's window for 6 hours before posting. Well, I had to wait for them to fall asleep.... I did too! Except I read Soxtalk through SS2k5's window. I had to wait for him to stop posting and fall asleep. I'm still waiting...
August 11, 200916 yr QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 01:29 PM) I did too! Except I read Soxtalk through SS2k5's window. I had to wait for him to stop posting and fall asleep. I'm still waiting... But was he naked?

August 11, 200916 yr I started lurking around 2002. Signed up in 2004. Made about 5 posts under a different name. Forgot my password and lurked for another 3 years before I got this name.
August 11, 200916 yr I lurked for at least a few months before I registered. That was a long time ago so I don't really recall how long.
August 11, 200916 yr QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 01:24 PM) I lurked around school playgrounds for a long time before my first posting. Seriesly though, I lurked just a little before posting. I had been a longtime WSI guy but was getting fed up with the way that was being run and was looking for something else. Soxtalk was a breath of fresh air. ^^similar to what I did. I was aware of Soxtalk, came here to browse now and again, but just got sick of WSI after I got banned like the 3rd or 4th time over trivial s***.
August 11, 200916 yr I always go straight for the admin/mod forum because that is where all the real fun is. Everyone should get a chance to try it atleast once, its a riot.
August 12, 200916 yr Shhh... ixnay. I never even knew about WSI; I found Soxtalk from a link on ESPN's Sox board.
August 12, 200916 yr I actually lurked for a couple years. Not like a creeper, but like the friendly neighbor you've never met and don't know is watching you.
