Had class during the first part of the game. Is this start a product of a bad cubs offense or is torres pitching really well today? I see he has no walks. That makes me think its the latter.

He's been sharp, but it helps that the umpire is calling a big zone and the wind is blowing in today.

If anything, Wise has been contributing defensively.

He is good at that.

Yeah. I saw the first inning and it seemed like the zone was huge.

That was a seed -- very cool

And he has stolen a base or two so he has speed

Nice job by the kid to man up and try to make Ozzie a believer.

Looks like Torres has just been coming right after them. Has he had a lot of first pitch strikes?

TORRES :headbang

There ya go Torres! 7 scoreless!! Come on Matt & Bobby, lets shut these scrubs out!!!

Torres did his job.

Torres was Jake Peavy-like.

Who picthes the 8th and 9th? Thornton I hope as he would bring a completely different look

Nice game, Torres. 0 walks, very impressive

How close of a play was it at the plate?

The guy was definitely out, but it was pretty close.

Jake must be rubbing off on the rookie already

Lets put 2 across this inning.

There is the key to this kids success. He has decent stuff, but not enough to pitch over extra base runners.

I think Gordo just read your posts about what to do with the outside pitch.

Beckham took the outside pitch up the middle which is the right thing to do. He must have felt our Karma

Some guys are natural pull hitters, but guys like AJ and Gordo have to go the other way to be effective.

Aj wont get alot of credit for that play, but he got the ball, saw that Fox was trying to tag with his let hand and went directly after it to block it. Great play by a catcher.

hahahahaahahahahaha
