I think Jose does this every time he gets some kind of a fresh start. Then he eats at himself and starts sucking sooner or later.

In about the same number of at-bats to start this year Josh Fields was hitting .286 with 1hr., 9 rbi, 14k and a .375obp.

When he's working quickly and throwing strikes, he's still a pretty good pitcher. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to do that for long stretches.

Cooper and the Sox have addressed this with him repeatedly.

 

But it didn't seem to make a difference, because when Jose got on the mound he simply did what he wanted. And for some reason, he just loves dropping down into his multiple sidearm slots... consequences be damned.

We signed him for 5 years after 2005...2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010. PK14 is a free agent at the end of the 2010 season.

I hope he pitches well, and he probably will. Any idiot could pitch well in the NL, that league is a joke.

he had a good, not great, year in AA this year, and he'll probably end next season in Charlotte. I think I'll be more surprised if he's not in the majors in 2011.

After the 4 years, he will have 2 years of arb-eligible status. The Sox still have 6 year rights on him and Ramirez per Rick Hahn.
