Peter Gammons To Leave ESPN

By Tim Dierkes [December 8, 2009 at 2:08pm CST]

Surprising press release today: legendary journalist Peter Gammons will leave ESPN to pursue other endeavors after the Winter Meetings. Hopefully Gammons will continue writing for another outlet.

Edited by elrockinMT

Tim Dierkes also posts at the mlbtraderumors forums. I heard the same about Peter from my brother(huge Red Sox fan) who has a decent Red Sox source.

Did he think Gammons might jump to MLB-TV?

Wow, that is awful. He is so good. I hope he shows up on MLB Network or somewhere else.

He's better than alot of people on ESPN, but still favors the Red Sox a ton. I still hope he winds up in a news outlet after this though, he seems like a really nice guy.

MORE TIM KURKJIAN!!!

The fleas are jumping off the dog pretty quick

He's very very good.

Now bring back NHL2Night and I'll be happy.

I now need MLB Network if Gammons moves there.

Kurkjian may be the only guy I really like on ESPN anymore for baseball coverage.

Gammons is going to MLB.com and MLB Network. It's one of the lead stories on mlb.com

That's a coup by MLB Network. They grow stronger by the day.

Indeed, they now have Heyman, Gammons and Rosenthal on the network.
