That being said...I like the fact that we actually have some options and players that can play multiple positions effectively.

Players were probably voting based on reputation. Ozzie can't make an evaluation himself? Buncha balogna, I say. Putting Jones at one of the corners and DHing either Jones or Quentin wouldn't be a bad idea, though.

Relayed a throw from Lexi to 1st.

Good solid throw right on the money.

Looked just fine.

I read an article interviewing him a couple of weeks ago talking about it...

Has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove he's still "got it".

 

Personally, I think Jones in CF and Rios in RF might be absolutely brilliant from a defense point of view.

 

What if our optimal alignment ends up with Jones in left and Pierre DH.

If they're both earning it with both the bat and glove and Q can keep his head straight while playing DH...I'm not going to complain as long as everyone stays healthy.

Hey, a 123 inning for Linebrink.

I don't think I have ever seen a spring training where the main Sox pitchers (the guys who will break camp in the big leagues) have pitched so well. The entire rotation is looking solid, especially Floyd/Peavy. The bullpen looks great except for Jenks and Liney. But even Liney is starting to look better. Very excited for April.

Lyons said apparently Ozzie asked the players who the best CF was and they said Jones.

I guess Ozzie would have to ask the players about who is the best CFer with Ozzie's track record on centerfielders. Oz has shown that he has little eye for talent as far as CF defense is concerned.

I read Peavy's stat line but was he dominant/overpowering or just very efficient today? I saw the Dodgers has most of their starting lineup in for the 5 inning he pitched which is really good.
