3 game winning streak! go sox!

I'll say it right here. Bobby needs to be moved before his peripherals catch up to him. Now's an ideal time because his velocity is back and his ERA looks fine. We cannot have him let at least one guy on-base per inning. On a positive note: SWEEP!

Danks is our ace! Didn't even have good command, and he dominated Seattle. Great having a sweep to keep us happy with tomorrow's day off.

:sweep: :headbang

Danks excellent again, this could be his break out year!!! He F'INGGGG ROCKS!!!!!!!

I thought Bobby looked fine. Good movement, good velocity...his command wasn't terrible overall, though it was during the Byrnes at-bat.

Konerko rocks my body.

1.71 WHIP. Yuck!

Congrats Ozzie, you needed that...to prove your decision-making process (by gut, not by the book) to stay with Danks against Gutierrez and not to pull Jenks for Thornton against Ken Griffey, Jr. both worked out.

Of course, you were really DUMB not to have Thornton warmed and ready for a LH PH.

Then again, it's going to kill Matty if we have him warming up or pitching in 120 games. No matter how easy/repeatable his delivery, he can't take that kind of stress/duress all season long. It's only April 25th, after all.

Konerko: April Player of the Month

How many times have you ever seen a manager pull his (established) closer with 2 outs in the 9th inning to play a L-R match-up?

Great win, Danks has been amazing so far this season. I still don't think Bobby should be our closer. He looks awful. Just not the same guy he used to be.

Ozzie saying he can't lose confidence in his players....that he has to stay with Jenks until he proves to the coaching staff that he can no longer get the job done.

Danks changing speeds and throwing strikes, wouldn't take the bait he was one of the best lefties in baseball.

Complains Paulie doesn't show up until we're trailing or tied in games, haha.

Making mistakes on the "little things" will knock us out of race quickly...all the execution failures in the late innings were REALLY REALLY bugging Ozzie. Have to do it, no matter how, you have to do get the job done in order to compete, etc. Also couldn't come up with the big hit in the first inning, run scores only on a wild pitch. Very little clutch hitting so far with this team, just solo homers and late inning heroics. 2nd, 6th, 7th situations, as well as first inning, all big disasters in terms of fundamentals execution and hitting (solid base hits) with RISP.

Might move Teahen up to AJ's spot....Ozzie seriously thinking about what to do about AJ's slump.

So long as Jenks kept the fastball up, Griffey didn't stand a chance. Griffey's bat speed is waaaay to slow anymore to catch up with mid to high 90s heat period, and getting it up leaves him hopeless. Leaving Jenks in for that really isn't that questionable of a move.

He has been lucky so far with this 9th inning egg shell dance. Sooner or later these 2 out dramas are going to catch up to him and he will blow a save. Hope not but it is getting to be as automatic as Pierre grounding out. That is bad. OT - BULLS now getting thrashed. Just don't have the horses to keep up.

8-11

That looks infinitely better than 5-11.

Yeah, you're right...the chances of Griffey getting the job done there were probably in the 5-10% range. But when we're trying to get some momentum going and stay away from getting buried, I would have brought in Thornton. The chances of Griffey getting the job done against Matt were probably 0-3%.

a pleasure to get a sweep, especially the way we did it.

And add to that how much complaining we hear about Ozzie setting up his line up to take advantage of those opportunies...

Well this is the way I was looking at it Friday night...the Mariners came to town 9-7, probably feeling pretty good about themselves. We were 5-11 and really down in the dumps - hadn't even won a series yet despite a few first game of the series wins to our credit.

The Mariners leave town now just a few days later and they're 1 game ahead of us in the standings.

Do we all see how quickly things can change now?

Paulie has been money this year! LOVED Bobby tellin' Oz "he's got this one..."! Nice to finally get a sweep!!!!

Great win today.. 1st series win and no less 1st sweep!!
