I thought the GIDP's would be signifcantly lower in number this year with the increase in speed in our lineup. Boy was I wrong...

1 f***ing hit in 3 innings against a pitcher who's down 7 mph with their velocity. Who's the fall guy when we get swept on this road trip?

Should have some huge walk up numbers next week after our 0-6 road trip.

I do like having Rios in center.

f*** that. He better be hurt if he's this bad. If he's hurt they can fix him. Otherwise he just sucks.

Nice to see you found another whipping boy now that Rios is hitting.

Unless you have a team of Jacoby Ellsburys, nothing can prevent tailor made double plays.

National league pitcher.

Harry Doyle: That's all we got, one goddamn hit?

Assistant: You can't say goddamn on the air.

Harry Doyle: Don't worry, nobody is listening anyway.

Peavy's retired 10 in a row.

Just one? I have like 8 this year. They all suck. And while Rios is a really solid player while hitting like this (and I'm serious there), it's not like he's got a 950+ OPS for his 12 mil.

Seems like a nightly occurrence that we've got 1 hit through the first 4 innings or so.

Kind of makes me think of the old sayin.... "too little too late"

I laughed when Teahen was one of the choices for most surprising player. You mean the guy hitting .273 with 2 homers? Crap, how low were people's expectations for him?

I am glad you are the official bean counter for the club. I could care less if they spend 12 million on a guy who plays well, over having a cheap stroke running out in CF or a guy who projects as a bench guy doing the same thing.

Keep dropping that back shoulder Kotsay

Amidst all the madness, A.J. is 1-1 with a walk.

If he's really hurt, why's he pitching? It's not like the Sox are in a race and that, even at 75%, he's helping. As somebody posted earlier, he's too much of an investment... Even if it's a terrible investment, they still must write him the checks.

I agree. It would make no sense to pitch a guy who was hurt that you have so much money invested in

Nice level swing by AJP there. Hopefully the worst is behind him.

so will it be a 6-4-3 DP or a 1-4-6 DP?

Well my train of thought was more towards eliminating the double plays that normally wouldn't be if it wasn't for our slow ass lineup last year. Now we just hit a lot more easy ground balls.

P.S. WHY IS KOTSAY STILL IN THE LINEUP. I DONT CARE WHAT ARM THE PITCHER THROWS WITH! AND OMAR VIZQUEL IS 103 YEARS OLD! GREAT IF HE IS TUTORING ALEXEI AT SS! THEY HAVE A NAME FOR PEOPLE WHO DO THAT, THEY ARE CALLED COACHES!

And thats my rant for the day, thank you very much

Hey did you guys see that ? AJ got a hit! Just like a real major league player!

I don't care how much they spend unless it interferes with getting good players that we need on this team. In this offseason it obviously had that affect. If we were spending 200 million a year I wouldn't care about the salary.

Here comes another double play.

ALEXEI WALKS!! Meat of the order coming up.

Ramirez and his first walk all season.
