Ozzie played that perfectly. Peavy deserved to come out for that inning and his s***tiness at this point and number of pitches means it is the time to take him out. Me thinks you guys are nutso if you think he should have been pulled before this moment when he pulled him at the right time.

Remember what I said about Ozzie putting his players in a position to fail? Well, after struggling to get through 5 with 90+ pitches, you don't send him out there to have the Rays chip away at a 4 run lead...

We got an off-day tomorrow. Use the damn bullpen.

Is it too early in the season for Peavy to have Dead Arm??

The better question is if he's too young to be washed up?

He should have done that to begin with.

Halladay is 4 years older, and is doing just fine.

Two different pitchers but man, something must be wrong with Jake, he is just too proud/stubborn to come out and say it

Ozzie made the right call. You don't pull an ace who was just given a four run lead. No matter how horses*** the highly paid ace is.

I can't disagree.

You don't go and put reputation in the way of winning the game.

Now THAT is a slider

So replacing a 3 win pitcher with a 7 win pitcher would make no difference?

There are only 8 pitchers in the entire league with 7 or more wins, Cleveland is a team that we should be beating.. its a little different

Seriously, Jake Peavy is not a f***ing ace

BTW, what a s*** hole that place is. Went to the Friday game.

And Jake is one of those guys many would have expected to be included in that list. And if he has 7 or 8 wins by now that means our record against Cleveland would most likely be better too since he would have pitched to them a couple times st least by now.

He's not an ace.

He should be one. He's paid like one.

The pitch count was still OK. They'd just been given a four-run lead. He's jake peavy. He stays in until exactly the point Ozzie yanked his mediocre, highly-paid ass.

Um Carlos, the point of playing the outfield is to catch the ball.

Above average right fielder has that.

For a guy who said he has arm issues, 96 pitches is pushing it.

HA!

what a horses*** team this is

For as hard as he throws, Santos gets hitters out with his offspeed pitches. The 3-2 pitch to Zobrist was very dumb pitch selection.

So yeah, our 4 run lead is now a 2 run lead.

Anybody still think it was a good idea to let Peavy continue to suck?

Cmon. His pitch count was fine. A good pitcher would have smoked through the sixth with that new cushion.

But he's not a good pitcher right now.
