Agreed, the only thing that was missing was wishing the other team luck and telling them he hopes they make the playoffs.

He was a finalist when Ozzie was hired right? That would have been a disaster.

Yawn...he did that all time here. His brand of small ball that the Barons played under him was dubbed "Wally Ball."

hahaaa...I love Wally Backman! Yes...for about 3 or 4 days he was manager of the DBags and a NY paper wrote a story about he was arrested a couple times (one on a domestic dispute and the other a DUI)...and that he had some serious financial problems. BFD. DBags really dropped the ball on this one IMO. I always thought the guy deserved a second chance.
