Is Rios hurt or something? I can't stand watching Andruw Jones and Mark Kotsay both in the same lineup.

Kotsay hitting 3rd!? Really Ozzie?? I'd rather bat Carlos 3rd since he's got the hot bat.

He's not hurt but has slumped in the last few games. And hasn't been getting any extra base hits. He could use a day off.

Isn't it amazing? Why does Ozzie continue to trot out players that 80% of baseball would DFA?

I don't mind Kotsay hitting 3rd, keep Quentin in the same spot in the order and hopefully keep that mojo going, plus Kotsay has been ok lately. But I don't know how many strikeouts and double plays Ozzie needs to see before Jones goes away. I know Rios has been struggling lately, but he's had plenty of days off the last few weeks. His struggles aren't due to being tired.

Because Ozzie plays everybody on the roster. Which is why Kenny needs to step in here and DFA Andruw.

 

As for Kotsay 3rd, who would you rather see there with Rios out? Only real obvious choice is Q, and I get not wanting to mess with his lineup order placement with the way he's hitting.

Can we hope for a 3 inning game that then gets postponed during rain, that way Weaver can't pitch again this series? For all this "versatility", sure seems like Ozzie has given himself very little options out on the field.

I honestly don't see how him batting 3rd would mess up anything. It's not like he has to change his stance or swing.

I am starting to wonder if maybe they DFA Jones, and keep Viciedo around as the RH DH and RH 3B (against Kotsay DH and Teahen 3B). Might not be the worst idea ever, as long as Viciedo is playing at least 50% of the time in total.

 

That leaves Vizquel as your true backup IF, and Kotsay as the true backup OF, which I'm fine with.
