Because he clearly isnt cutting it this season offensively and Flowers might not hit for avg. but he at least will walk and hit for some power. Id love AJ if he would agree to be backup, maybe still get 2ish games a week.

 

I don't mean this in a negative way, but if he's on the roster, there's not a chance in hell that Ozzie wouldn't play AJP at least half the time, if not more.

Quite a few times this season. If Mauer comes up, that means at least 2 guys reached this inning, making his AB very important.

I still can't see how that wasn't an error. When the ball is in the fielder's glove and he drops it, it usually is. Now, it would be ridiculous to charge that error to Rios, but still...
