8/12 White Sox vs Twins

Featured Replies

He really only gave up 1 "real" run and I think giving pitcher a chance to get a win is a good thing. Obviously, results were horrible, but retrospective decision making without any responsibility is easy.

He struck out the other two guys with them, what can one do?

Doesn't mean they were good pitches, and it's also a pretty good sign his arm was tired.

Our baby boy was born on the ever popular 8/9/10. Everyone's doing good. Tons of pictures taking of him wearing Sox attire, which surely pissed off the in-laws.

Congratulations, Fathom!

Glad to hear everyone is healthy and happy.

Prepare for no sleep.

Mark August 12th on the calenders as a possible White Sox "downfall" date.

Normally I can see your point, but a hot humid night, more pitches than he usually throws, he's been laboring for a good portion of the game, a huge situation with a lefty ready to go against Kubel, its easy to say now obviously, but you have to make a move in a 3-1 game. If you're going to yank him if he gives up a homer, why leave him in?

Twins will sweep us in Minny and that'll be the beginning of the end IMO.

Flame away

Well, Gardenhire pulled Liriano before Ramirez batted, while Ozzie let Floyd stayed in. Right or wrong, Gardenhire is the huge winner in the managerial game tonight.

I like the match-ups vs the Tigers, but would be nice to see Teahen called up for Viciedo with those 3 righties on the mound.

He looks like a genius because of the middle of the Sox order couldn't hit with RISP.

He's been our ace pitcher for the last two months, think trust isn't an issue here with Gavin. Just made a bad pitch, it happens.

The 2nd night was great, as he got circumsized and was tired. However, night 3 was DEFINITELY a different story, as he was up from midnight to 5 AM.

I've always been big on a quick hook, but Ozzie does have his bullpen in better shape for the stretch. The only other bullpens used less than the White Sox are Philadelphia and Seattle, and Seattle was only about an inning more.

Gameday saying 99mph for Sale???

Runners on base were Liriano's, of course, but he did not lose the chance for a win by being pulled.

It's really amazing that our first round pick from a few months ago is pitching in a meaningful game in August.

Congrats Fathom.

Now, teach that boy to never support Scott Podsednik, and we're set.

I watched some of the Cubs/Giants game on Monday night with him, and I talked to him about how I'd never throw Juan Uribe a 3-2 fastball.

Very impressive by Sale there...huge fastball, and then a great change-up.

Well it had meaning before he got into the game...

I feel like I am in the f***ing twilight zone. How many years post ASB do we give up the booty to the twins. Year in and year out the same formula. Mental mistakes + poor situational hitting + bad pitches. If we excel at anything its locating players who have issues with the pucker factor. We put more pressure on ourselves in situations that the pressure is on the opposition. This just sickens me. We should be winning tonight. And here we are, with the boogeyman once again walking out with a 2nd half win.

Enjoy Charlotte, Dayan

Don't discredit how good of a job the Twins do at throwing our hitters offspeed pitches when they get 2 strikes on them. It seems simple enough, but you rarely see the Twins make 2 strikes mistakes to our hitters.

Yep, and it's not going to help KW's case that he was the untouchable he wouldn't give up to try and get Dunn.

He'll be carrying his own suitcase tomorrow, I think. Lots of talent, no discipline.
