so that's the reason? IF pierre gets a hit? Awesome.

What about IF Alexei doesn't swing at a ball in the dirt? What about IF PK hits a gapper?

So stupid

If Konerko hits a gapper, then Beckham scores from first. Giving up the first out is just so idotic when Perry was clearly rattled. I wish more teams would give up outs to the Sox.

Well, the Twins were down 4 1/2 games and were staring at THREE more games at USCF and they swept through those...

Yet it seems impossible for us to do anything now but POSSIBLY win 1 of 3 games in Minnesota.

I really hope we don't let Sale languish as the second lefty in the bullpen next year.

There is 0 chance he'll be in the bullpen next year. Sox didn't draft a guy that high to be a middle reliever for his career.

Actualt Tony P has had some pretty solid games for us this year

Yawn. Nice try.

:lolhitting

That's your argument for why Thome wouldn't help this team.

The plan is to make him a starter next year. Don't worry.

They've been way too rare though.

This is a freaking softball game.

this team is such a joke now.

Cross Pena off the list for next year too.

He's nothing but DJ Carraso with better stuff. Sure, he's had 2-3 nice outings when he went long and saved us, but he hasn't done us any favors recently.

I'm actually thinking we would be better off with Brandon Allen fo 2011.

I never understood the Pena envy. He was involved in last year's string of losses in clutch time.

That 22 game hitting streak is terrible isn't it?

Juan Pierre does not have a 22 game hitting streak. His hitting streak ended at 16.

Yes, in long relief. He's been BRUTAL in short relief. He's well on his way to having an ERA over 9 since the ASB.

Somehow I missed that homer he gave up in the 9th and now two more runners on base for the Tigers. Nothing like a stake through the heart

Thankfully there's an off day tomorrow so our bullpen can rest.

Thanks for destroying any motivation the fans have for coming out the rest of the season.

Well, the Yankees and Red Sox fans can at least give us some additional revenue for our payroll, that's about the extent of it.

Tony Pena would like you to note that there are actually 3 runners on base.

Hey Chris, don't you have a postgame show to prepare for?

We've seen this before and it wasn't under the same manager.

Alright, I'm out. Cya guys later, hopefully when I see my last Sox game of the year on TV on Tuesday, they won't suck.

Pena's ERA going to be over 5.50 after this inning. Can't wait until he's out of this organization, and we get an actual long man.

I was going to correct myself, but I need to correct Tony Pena as he allows two more to score sdo there are only 2 on base

lol

If things go from bad to worse over the next 10 days, I wonder if we'll put Putz on waivers?
