Right. Which means that the only teams that could have put in a claim were Tampa Bay, Minnesota, New York, and then the NL teams.

Unless he is saying that NL teams with worse records could have claimed him too, but I don't see why that's relevant.

From my understanding there was only one claim placed, and it was the RedSox.

I would find that hard to believe.

Why bother with Damon, this team is done anyways.

Yeah, if we don't add anyone we are done.

The team is not done until they are eliminated.

They were done in April/May and in the middle of June also.

Any Harder than believing that Laroche wasn't claimed at all?

This might be Kennys worst year...

And they're done in August.

This is not a playoff team.

yes. I would think Damon has much more value than LaRoche does. That said, I am still surprised LaRoche wasn't claimed either.

do you have to repeat that you are done with this team in every thread you post in?

I am done with anyone who proclaims this team is done unless and until they are mathematically eliminated.

Further, as of today, there are no playoff teams whatsoever--only division leaders, of which two or three have seen their leads erode over the last couple of weeks.

Further still, in baseball, as in life, "Nothing good ever happened in August".

where in that article does it say bill simmons said he is coming back? I can't find it.

I thought I was the only one that didn't notice where it said that as well.

Simmons said on Twitter.

The Fox article is a second source.

Yeah, why should NBA-ers and NFL-ers be the only ones that get to play out free agency and contract situations through twitter...

Damon invokes NTC and nixes trade to Red Sox, remaining in Detroit.

I wonder if his decision would have been different if the Red Sox were in a great spot for a playoff spot, instead of on the outside looking in.
