Wouldn't mind Balfour. Would actually really like him to replace Putz.

He's cute and yet ferocious.

So he'll get the women, eh?

Cowley tweets for the sake of tweeting.

I'm pretty convinced that Cowley just sits on his recliner drinking beer and tweeting things that sound plausible (or not). He's probably not in Orlando right now...in fact, he's probably never even seen the inside of the Sox clubhouse. For all I know, he's an A.I. (I use the "I" liberally) broadcasting over the Internet.

Cowleytron.

BTW, the word is Kerry Wood wants $9 million a year. If he's you're plan B, its time to move to C if that doesn't drastically reduce.

Thats why Im confused on where there was no push to resign Putz. Putz showed you what he can do when healthy, we has dominant. He signed for 4M in 2010 and 4.5M in 2011, where else does KW think he is going to get a shut down free agent reliever for that price.

I think health was a concern.

So do you want Putz to pitch 55IP at 4M or Wood to pitch 65IP at 9M.

Gay

*cough*

I think KW doesn't want either for the price and the health concerns.

With an Australian accent? Of course.

I'd be amazed if anyone wanted Wood at that price

Yeah Andrew Sisco, Ryan Bukvich, David Aardsma are all calling in.

And all calling in collect cause none of them were making significant money when they were in our bullpen.

If you get paid by number of people you get out then yes, they made no $$. Now if they got paid by number of people you walked, hit by pitch, or gave up hits to................

Ryan Bukvich is a right handed type of pitcher.

Compromise should be in order:

2yr/27 mil - 3rd year mutual option

$15 mil year 1, $12 mil year 2, $12 mil option year 3.

I think Cowley has a couple of underaged kids running around for him collecting mostly dubious information which he uses in his tweets and columns. He probably tosses them a bone here and there just to keep them hungry, but mostly he placates them by feigning interest in their stories of how sick their mothers are before sending them back out in search of something that he didn't "already know." That's pretty much who Joe Cowley is IMO.

More like $12M in 2011, $12M in 2012, $12M option in 2013 with a $3M buyout... move that extra cash to the back end.

I think we'll catch a break if he signs a deal like that though. He'll probably get 3 years guaranteed from someone, probably us.

What about letting him be a player/coach in his 3rd year if his production declines sharply?

*runs for cover*
