I know some of you guys are space program fans, so I thought I'd let you know that I get to give former shuttle astronaut Capt. Winston Scott a personal tour of the institute I work at tomorrow. According to his bio, Capt. Scott "served as a mission specialist on STS-72 in 1996 and STS-87 in 1997, and has logged a total of 24 days, 14 hours and 34 minutes in space, including 3 spacewalks totaling 19 hours and 26 minutes." He is now the Dean of the College of Aeronautics at the school where I received my doctorate, which is pretty cool.

Awesome. That has to be very cool. Ask him if you can hitch a ride with him in trade!

That's good times right there. I'm surprised you ran out of gauze, the bleeding is normally self-contained after a good two hours.

Is it a slow bleed or are you gushing blood?

At this point...maybe. Can you still reach the office where it was done or have they closed?

Have you been able to apply pressure at all?

When I had my 2 out I was able to bite down gently on the Gauze for about 30 min and that was sufficient to stanch blood flow. Applying pressure helps.

i've just been biting down on gauze for hours. just used a tea bag.

Yeah, it can't hurt to put in a call to the office where you had the procedure done before they close if you've got significant amounts of blood coming out.

I know you are in pain and probably drugged up, but that is just a hilarious line.

Yeah they just said it's normal. Also 1 vicotin didn't do anything so I think I'll just do advil from Hereon since it doesn't mess with my stomach. Eff vicotin.

One notable side effect of ibuprofin is a thinning of the bloodstream, which might make clotting more difficult in your case.

f*** I had not thought of that. God this sucks.

Anyone ever try grilling a frozen pizza?

Yeah, I'm just kind of bored and was thinking of doing this for dinner before the Sox game. Would be using a gas grill.

If your stomach can handle Tylenol (I Know that bothers some people), it's the main OTC pain relever which does not cause blood thinning.

If you are talking about hydrocodone, I will take your leftovers.

I have an Eastside Cafe which are excellent but I think I'm going to go pick up a home run inn and give it a go. They have grilling instructions on the website afterall.
