June 7, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 11:33 AM) But will that change our grade with J4L?? Most definitely. From big fat F to a C.
June 7, 201114 yr Wow there goes Tilson. I think that's a bit early for him, but I think that means the Cards probably think he's signable.
June 7, 201114 yr White Sox take RHP Erik Johnson, UC Berkley. Edited June 7, 201114 yr by JoeCoolMan24

June 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) White Sox=boring whats boring about taking a SP with 4 pitches who could move quickly through the system? Isn't that something we need with ?'s like Buehrle, Peavy, Danks, Jackson, and Humber in our current rotation?
June 7, 201114 yr Johnson's college stats 2009 and 2010. http://thebaseballcube.com/profile.asp?P=erik-johnson-3

June 7, 201114 yr Johnson should be pitching this weekend in the Super Regionals. Looking at his stats, seems like someone you don't want to hit against. Control is really bad, but didn't give up a lot of hits.

Right-handed pitchers who throw in the low 90's without either a plus breaking or off-speed pitch=boring.
June 7, 201114 yr He pitched really poorly against Baylor in the regional: 5.1 innings, 10 runs, 9 walks

Hey, its still a SP that looks to have some projectability and could move quick through the system.. better than the Broadways and McCullochs of the past
June 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) Kinda sounds like ole Danny Wright if the 95 velo is right. I'm sure he's someone that we'll get to work on their command by having them throw in the 91-92 mph range. Not a great pick, not a terrible pick (FROM WHAT WE CAN TELL NOW!).

June 7, 201114 yr Be great for Cal to make the CWS. Love to watch Johnson pitch, and then you have the whole story about them saving their program.
