June 7, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 11:54 AM) Oh Washington, sign him! He'll be a tough sign. But totally worth it for them. They're playing with house money right now.
June 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) He pitched really poorly against Baylor in the regional: 5.1 innings, 10 runs, 9 walks In fairness, the second start was on short rest on Monday, but yeah a pair of ugly starts against Baylor.
June 7, 201114 yr Is anyone doing a live chat today? I've got a clunker of a summer class to get through in the next 3 hours.
June 7, 201114 yr Author QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) Has Josh Osich been drafted yet? Nope
June 7, 201114 yr I like what the Jays have been doing. If Stilson's injury isn't serious he's a top 20 talent.

June 7, 201114 yr johnmanuelba John Manuel Hard-throwing JC RHP Jeff Soptic to #WhiteSox, raw, big arm strength, reports of 100 mph, strictly a bullpen guy long-term 16 seconds ago Favorite Retweet Reply
June 7, 201114 yr Jeff Soptic, RHP, Johnson County Community College: This 6-6 right-hander scrapes 100 MPH with his fastball and has a promising slider. Although somewhat unrefined as a pitcher, his upside is huge and his arm strength is as good as anyone else's in the draft. He could easily go in the supplemental round to a team looking for a high-octane arm to harness. Love the upside. Great pick because of the risk.
June 7, 201114 yr Must be easy heat because he looks like he throws effortlessly. Edited June 7, 201114 yr by maggsmaggs
June 7, 201114 yr Soptic seems to have pretty solid mechanics, or at least nothing that looks like he will have injury problems. Not thrilled that he projects to be a reliever, but if he is coming out of the pen, maybe he can maintain that 100 MPH cheese.

June 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) I have zero problems drafting closer candidates in the 3rd round. Yeah, not a big problem, just wish that kind of stuff was coming from a starter.
June 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) Yeah, not a big problem, just wish that kind of stuff was coming from a starter. finish 60-102 and you may get that kind of player I am still chcuckling about the cubs player's picture
June 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Must be easy heat because he looks like he throws effortlessly. Good find. From my mostly untrained eye those look like pretty good mechanics. Kinda sucks that he's a Mizzou commit. One of my teams is going to miss out on this guy!

June 7, 201114 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) Good find. From my mostly untrained eye those look like pretty good mechanics. Kinda sucks that he's a Mizzou commit. One of my teams is going to miss out on this guy! He looks very right-handed Matt Thornton. Very upright and tall, then effortless.
