Humber takes line drive to head, removed from game

Featured Replies

He never lost consciousness and seemed to want to stay in the game, but he was taken out right away. No blood or anything obviously wrong.

Hit above right eye. Remains alert. Will be further evaluated tomorrow.

Hope he is ok.

I jumped for a second. It looked like you said that a line drive removed his head.

Humber is a badass for wanting to stay in.

That was neat. He is a gamer obviously.

But had he stayed in, he truly might have been killed. The current Humber is not the first half Humber.

He needs to leave the rotation for middle relief or situational relief NOW.

ya paulie gave him a pat as he was leaving

was scary the way his legs buckled and everything

Second time he was hit in the face with a line drive in the last two years. Last year he was hit by his mouth/cheekbone. (needed 18 stitches)

He's a wuss... Danks stayed in after he got hit in the head :lolhitting

That was scary. His knees buckled and he just fell backwards. He looked a little dazed when he first stood up, but when he was taking to Herm he looked better. They made the right decision by pulling him.

#WhiteSox starter Phil Humber is OK after taking liner above right eye. "That’s a God thing. There’s a hand of protection around me."

Humber sported a well-sized bump above his right eye, wanted to thank the fans for supporting his wife after he got hit.

Humber: I told them I was good, I felt like I could still pitch and wanted to be out there.

"But at the same time, they got a job to do and take every precaution that there wasn’t anything serious going on.”
