Exec's believe both Oz and Kenny could be gone

MLB executives are coming to believe that White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf won’t retain both GM Kenny Williams and manager Ozzie Guillen in 2012, according to Olney. Alternatively, Reinsdorf could replace both and hire former White Sox skipper Tony La Russa to manage and promote assistant GM Rick Hahn to run baseball operations.

Unless they pull out a miracle, it has to happen.

It would be crazy if the Cubs and Sox both had a new GM and coach next year.

I still don't think KW is gone.

I hate these LaRussa mentions...please no.

In the name of all that is holy, please JR, FIRE OZZIE!

:pray

I would love to see Dave Martinez as our new MGR.

I do believe that Ozzie will be traded to Fla in the off season

For the love of god, let our next GM pick his own manager. If Reinsdorf hires LaRussa and promotes Hahn, then there's a high probability of organizational dysfunction in the near future. After all the KW/Ozzie bulls***, isn't this something we'd like to avoid?

Also, what's the odds that Hahn gets the GM job if KW is let go. I'd have to think 90% or so. I just don't see Reinsdorf looking outside the organization, unless he feels that Hahn is partly responsible for this mess and wouldn't bring enough change from KW.

IMO, KW will be bumped upstairs to Pres. and Hahn would take over as GM.

I hope both of these happen. Also, as long as our next manager is aware of splits and can actually understand what they mean, I'll be somewhat happy. I just can't believe in this era of information that there are managers who openly acknowledge they don't use statistics to help make decisions.

Basically it seems they have been trying to throw each other under the bus all season. Ironic if they tossed each other under. I'd like to see a change at manager and a shake up of the coaching staff. I could support leaving K-Dubya in place for another season.

It would be interesting who, if any, of the staff is (are?) retained.

I wouldn't mind LaRussa, but I really don't see it happening.

Good call. That has the right JR feels to it.

No reason to believe Hahn would not want LaRussa.

If Hahn wants LaRussa that's fine, but Reinsdorf should not force his hand. Especially when we're talking about a rookie GM and veteran manager. That just has trouble written all over it.

In terms of KW being removed...in my opinion, it all comes down to what he told JR when he convinced him to spend the money last year.

If he told him that he could spend $125 million and be competitive but that he'd still give it a 50/50 shot of winning the division because of these caveats (Peavy's arm, Konerko having a down year, whatever)...then the Chairman made the call on spending that money.

If he told him that "I'll stake my reputation that if you spend $125 million we will win the Central..." well...

Plus what KW's plan is going forward. If he can inspire JR, if he can convince him that his strategy is sound, he probably is back. I would imagine that startegy and vision will involve a bew manager and at least some change in the coaching ranks (Walker?)

I think it is probable both will be back.

So you think we're going to win the World Series?

I think LaRussa would be manager just through the bad contracts, couple years. I've heard a scenario where he'd hire Joe McEwing to be his bench coach to take over for him after that.

I wouldn't really care what his plan was going forwards. He's saddled this team with a series of bad contracts and bad trades.

If he admitted that last season and the Chairman still said "Here's the money"...then that's the Chairman taking responsibility.

That has nothing to do with it. Jerry might feel that there are a lot of issues this season but that KW and Ozzie are like sons to him and deserve a second chance in 2012. Family is strong.

2012 would be a 4th chance.

Production from Rios and especially Dunn were givens. I also think the Hudson trade hurts Williams here.

If anyone took production from Rios as a "Given" considering his 2009 season, then that's fireable right there.

And yes...the Hudson trade hurts KW, because that trade caused KW to spend an extra $10 million or so between 2010 and 2011.
