Wow, Rios is not going to be happy

Was Dunn on deck before the hit?

Nice cut.

No....definitely not. Like it was stated earlier..should have gone Fukudome/AJ 1st...Dunn 3rd like you said then Rios could have still batted. Dumb.

f***!

PK 400th maybe. :headbang ...........................no Dunn f***ed that up.

Made a good pitch

How a MLB batter misses that 3-1 pitch is beyond me.

The K.

s***ty game.

Worthless at bats.

Lousy baseball.

Tough loss for Gavin

Looked like he was expecting an offspeed pitch maybe?

Rios is 2-for-12 with 5 Ks lifetime vs. Balfour. Dunn is 1-for-4 FWIW.

It was a good cut, just seemed like a bit too high of a pitch for where his swing plane was. MLB batters miss good pitches all the time

Another lose to a soft tosser who next game will go 4 innings and give up 5 runs and be knocked out...............very sad!

Who cares if Rios is happy?

Whole team sleepwalking tonight except Gavin.

Nice effort.

Losing a zero zero game in the 8th is disappointing, however it's not lousy baseball.

Lefties with good changeups suck to bat against.

Just like how Thornton wasn't the wrong move (leaving Gavin in was), I have no issue with getting Dunn up to bat. The bigger issue was letting Beckham bat when you had 2 lefties significantly better in Fukudome/AJP.

What do you say when our pitches pitch well and beat other teams? Do you think they were sleepwalking too? :lolhitting

Like Fathom said, they wouldn't go with the pitch and rap singles n doubles.

I should have said lousy hitting.

Sox could have played 15 innings and wouldn't have score tonight.

Awful at bats.

It's 3-1. You HAVE to think fastball to be successful. If he aces you with an offspeed pitch, there's not much you can do. IF you swing and make weak contact, it'll probably result in an out.

He did this the other night with the bases loaded on a 3-2 count. You KNOW it's going to be a fastball right there. The result was a backwards K.
