Balta, is it possible to find out what Cabrera has hit against the Sox in the 7th inning and later in his career?

Wow, what a dumbass decision.

I'd rather have Jake f***ing Peavy pitch to Cabrera than any bullpen guy.

No harm, no foul. Sox were up by two; still up by one with four outs to go.

A good bullpen would wrap this baby up.

would've liked to have seen him throw another changeup with the count in his favor like that. oh well.

It was time to shower several minutes earlier. Hopefully it won't coast the Sox a win and hopefully Robin learned something there.

I've always hated when a manager asks his pitcher if he wants to stay in or come out.

That was supposed to come after the up and out of the zone fastball.

I can't believe you guys preferred a reliever to Peavy there.

Let's get an insurance run

It must be great to be Matt Abatacola (sp). For Hawk to use that in his play by play is awesome.

You can't believe it? I don't mind the call, but the default coaching move there is obviously not the starter with 120 pitches and a recently repaired right arm.

He was out of gas facing one of the best hitters of the past 20 years who has seen his pitches 3 times previously tonight.

On to the 9th.

Sale closing?

Kidding.

Let Thornton finish.

Santiago has seen his last ninth inning for awhile.

CLE getting on a bit of a mini-roll here in the early season. Took down the Rangers at home and in first by 2 games now.

Weird, bringing in Valverde down by 1?

He hasn't even pitched well in tie games this season.

Yes. If you have to ask, the question has already been answered.

if we have learned one thing about Robin Ventura in the first month, it's this:

He ain't obsessed with pitch counts.

When it's all said and done, maybe one of the top 3-5 hitters of all-time.

He's Manny Ramirez without the steroids.

Clearly we don't care about his health if we're letting him throw so many pitches.

Valverde sucks, but this means they feel pretty confident about the back end of our bullpen.

He'll pitch the ninth at home with the game out of hand either way.

Why would you? Not like he's coming back next year.

I'm glad you waited until the result to tell us how you felt about it. You are like, soooooo smart.

Peavy was not out of gas.

Peavy kept him in the park.

Peavy and Verlander don't come out there.

Cause honestly, it seems like 90% of the time, the pitcher is going to say he wants to stay in. I've always felt one of the reasons a manager might do that is to scapegoat the pitcher if it goes bad.

BTW, is there any team in the majors with a worse bench than ours?

Other than Lillibridge's versatility and pinch-running, not much there.

Beckham will get another AB here unless Morel hits into a DP.

Yay, we now have one bench hitter over .200 finally.

I typed this before the AB "Oh boy, here comes the #1 Sox killer over the past few years. You can't let him beat you here."
