May 28, 201213 yr Author http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?p...&pid=458668 Danks' numbers aren't that bad. He still averages a K per game, but so do a lot of guys. OBP over .400. With his glove and probably better speed than Fukudome, he may be worth calling up soon.

May 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (flavum @ May 28, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) Mitchell with 4 walks. OBP over .400. Love.
May 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ May 28, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Castro pitching a gem. 8 scoreless with no walks. Fantastic control this season.
May 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ May 28, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Castro pitching a gem. 8 scoreless with no walks. 1 unearned now.
May 29, 201213 yr Ravelo's last 10 games, he has 8 hits... all singles. He also has 5 walks, vs 2 K's. Lots of contact, good plate discipline, but little power.
May 29, 201213 yr Birmingham Barons @BhamBarons With 4 walks tonight, Jared Mitchell has now reached base 9 consecutive times on 3 singles and 5 walks. He has 8 walks in his last 3 games.
May 29, 201213 yr Doyle continues to dominate. Blair Walters had a nice start, and Castro was awesome.
May 29, 201213 yr Can anyone argue that Doyle has more upside than Axelrod or Stewart? And if so, why?
May 29, 201213 yr Mitchel now has a .905 OPS. That's f***ing amazing considering he plays half his games at a pitchers' park and missed a full year of development. The only concern is the strikeouts, although some of those are the result of trying to draw walks. He's definitely back in the long-term mix.
May 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) Ravelo's last 10 games, he has 8 hits... all singles. He also has 5 walks, vs 2 K's. Lots of contact, good plate discipline, but little power. That's what they said about Wade Boggs.....
May 29, 201213 yr Baseball America picked Castro as its Prospect Pitcher of the Day for his performance Monday. it's the first time they said something nice about a Sox prospect since 2001 -- when they were in love with Matt Ginter and Jon Rauch.
May 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 28, 2012 -> 10:23 PM) Ravelo's last 10 games, he has 8 hits... all singles. He also has 5 walks, vs 2 K's. Lots of contact, good plate discipline, but little power. Except Ravelo doesn't have good plate discipline. That's an isolated stretch. He still doesn't walk enough for a guy with no power.
May 29, 201213 yr QUOTE (danman31 @ May 29, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) Except Ravelo doesn't have good plate discipline. That's an isolated stretch. He still doesn't walk enough for a guy with no power. Lately. Lately. 2 K's in 10 games, and 5 walks, is good plate discipline. I wasn't saying he's always been that way.
