Cardinals fans I know love Sox fans, as they have the whole "hate the Cubs" thing in common

I've definitely forged many "shaky alliances" with Cardinal fans out of our mutual hate of the Cubs

Man, Carbondale must just have some particularly belligerent Cards fans

Wow, this sucks.

Well, Thornton can't pitch consecutive innings it looks like. All he had to do is elevate the fastball there.

Jesus Thornton, c'mon.

 

Not the greatest time to implode completely. This just had the feel of one of those games when Seager hit the homer to make it 4-2.

 

Then again, the M's are something like 2-14 in their last 16 games in Chicago.

What's been your experience w/ the Cardinal fan take on the White Sox? Do you get the feeling there's a shaky alliance there or is it just basically all-out anti-Chicago bias

 

The southern IL anti-Chicago bias is of course based in a lot of things

 

When I go with a buddy to random Cards game and I wear Sox gear I get genuine hatred for just Chicago in general...a shaky alliance is what I was expecting seeing that we both hate the same team.

 

It takes some explaining on my part to make them see that we are often on the same side. It's to the point where my friends actually root for the Sox as their favorite AL team.
