June 3, 201213 yr That could be it for the big guy Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick Jose Contreras has a torn ligament and tendon in his right elbow. Or as the #phillies would call it, "soreness.''
June 3, 201213 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 08:32 AM) That could be it for the big guy Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick Jose Contreras has a torn ligament and tendon in his right elbow. Or as the #phillies would call it, "soreness.'' I didn't even know he was still with the Phillies...
June 3, 201213 yr He's a good man. He actually told KW to sign Alexei Ramirez and told him if he didn't work out, they could take Ramirez's salary out of his check. Obviously that wouldn't happen, but he is one of the biggest, if not the biggest reason the Sox distributed World Championship rings. And there's no way he's only 40. June 4, 201213 yr He says he is gonna try & come back but that will be tough. Good luck to him, thanks for being an ace in 05.
June 4, 201213 yr Damn. One of my favorites from the WS era. I was thrilled that he wound up on my NL rooting interest afterwards. Whatever he decides to do, I wish him well.
June 4, 201213 yr Man... poor guy has had 3 or 4 serious and painful injuries. Not just "shoot, I can't play through this one" but more of "shoot, i cant lift a fork to feed myself" or "shoot, i can't walk to the can to relieve myself."
June 4, 201213 yr I heard somewhere that after his career he could rejoin the Sox in a latin american scouting capacity
June 4, 201213 yr Jose, you were a rock. Would have loved to see you pitch in the bigs when you were in your 20's (which must have been 30 years ago, haha). Best of luck in the recovery.
June 4, 201213 yr QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 10:34 AM) Best wishes to one of the 2005 heroes.
June 4, 201213 yr QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) I heard somewhere that after his career he could rejoin the Sox in a latin american scouting capacity It would be great to see him back in the organization when he's done playing.
June 4, 201213 yr From mid 2005 to mid 2006, Jose Contreras was the best pitcher in all of baseball. That was a key period in the history of this franchise. I will always love him.
June 5, 201213 yr Author Todd Zolecki @ToddZolecki Jose Contreras (right elbow injury) transferred to 60-day DL. Retweeted by Mark Gonzales
