caulfield12
Two problems.... While trading Gavin definitely carves his $9.5 million from the payroll (option) next year, it's going to be impossible to get anything back in return that's near the value he can bring when he's on one of his good streaks. There's little choice but to ride this out a little longer... Of course, pretty soon, the Tigers will be knocking on the door and the stretch of games (the last home series where we went 2-4) will be gone. That said, we've got a disproportionate number of games left with the Twins and Royals in the 2nd half. We make a move now out of desperation, it's Holmberg/Hudson for Edwin Jackson all over again. Impossible position for a GM to be in....your heart tells you to go for it while your gut tells you the Tigers are still the team to beat if they can get their starting rotation healthy.
