5 really good at bats in a row for Alexei now

If our team tanks then maybe we should look at acquiring some catching prospects that could start eventually. Tyler Flowers is an ease out everytime he steps up to bat.

 

I still feel like if AJ's not back next year, we'll bring in Hawk's favorite, K. Suzuki

Flowers is 0 for last 13 with 8 strikeouts. He's also 3-28 vs RHP on the season.

 

MY biggest complaint about Ventura is he doesn't use the bench nearly enough, especially the kids.

I do think he should get Danks a start tomorrow maybe. Hard to get too mad about it, as the bench has been just terrible this season. Flowers probably should have been starting yesterday instead of AJ, but Ventura is a believer in benching the starting catcher the day game after a night game.

That's true, and I think we'd all like to see a bench player mixed into the regular lineup once in a while instead of the "Sunday lineup" we've seen a few times. Hopefully Danks is playing tomorrow.

That may have been the worst AB I have ever seen. 3 fastballs down the pipe and he is watching like he bought a ticket.

The bigger issue is he's up with a runner on 3rd and 2 outs with the #9 hitter up after him. You have to be trying to knock the run in there instead of drawing the walk.
