To be fair...in these conditions, against the Yankee lineup, 5/4 isn't awful. Not stellar, but not awful.

He gave up 4 runs. Didn't you say yesterday that means he deserves to lose? Considering what had to happen to keep the total at 4 while only recording 15 outs, I'd say it was a terrible outing.
