July 5, 201213 yr We currently have 8 players with 30+ RBI, 30+ Runs, and 60+ hits. This does not count Youk (yet). Have we ever had that type of production 1-9 at this point in a season?

July 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) I'd guess that 2006 team was awfully close. That team scored 520 runs in the first half. Yeah... Combine that offense with the pitching of 2005 team and you have a GOAT team. It's a shame the pitching fell off like it did.
July 6, 201213 yr 2000 team surely.... That team, top to bottom, could rake. Perry, Durham, Maggs, C-Lee, Konerko, Thomas, Valentin. Singleton was probably the weakest hitter that year, Fordyce at catcher, but we added Charles Johnson in trade, who was a monster that season with the O's. That's probably the most impactful in-season move made for a position player b4 Youkilis.

July 6, 201213 yr 2003 was a ridiculous offense: DH- Frank Thomas 1B- Paul Konerko 2B- Roberto Alomar SS- Jose Valentin 3B- Joe Crede RF- Magglio Ordonez CF- Carl Everett (also another answer for most impactful in-season move) LF- Carlos Lee C- Miguel Olivo Combined with a very good staff, at least one through four, it's pretty amazing that team didn't make the play-offs. July 6, 201213 yr Is it me or has Rios changed his batting stance. He looks so much better at the plate.
July 6, 201213 yr QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 12:31 AM) Is it me or has Rios changed his batting stance. He looks so much better at the plate. From last year, yes. His hands have moved around again...but I always think the real power for him comes from the legs. Can't tell that well from where most of the center field cameras, but I think last year he was very balanced at the plate and barely was shifting his weight at all, while this year you can see that his left foot is very light before he strides, there's almost no weight on it, so he's shifting weight from back to front when he swings and that's generating a much more powerful swing.
