Considering he doesn't have much even when he's on regular rest, this decision made zero sense. Heath or Santiago would have been a better choice. I really hope we don't have to watch him pitch after the break.

You'll likely get both of them today anyways.

4-0 Jays.

That ball was launched.

Ok this sucks

Get him out. Jesus f***ing Christ.

This one is on Cooper and Ventura. But hey, at least Sale can pitch one stupid inning in the ASG

Wow...........

Right down the middle....

Please let this be it for Axelrod in the rotation this year (but I'm sure they'll blame it on the short rest)

Terrible decision to start Axelrod on short rest. Reminds me of the decision to start Stewart vs the Cubs.

In your opinion what should we have done? Personally I would've started Sale and told him he can pitch in the AS game next year. Every game is important!

Throw a f***ing strike.

Axelrod flat out dominant today. I'm feeling a perfect game if he keeps this up!

Yep, I agree with you.

With all due respect for Hawk, if I had Axelrod's stuff, I'd be a little leery of throwing strikes as well.

I don't have a problem skipping Sale in order to save him innings. But this should have been a bullpen day, end of story.

Yearning for Phil Humber.

Would you throw a strike if you faced a home run hitting club with the stuff he has today?

Get Santiago up....

Yeah, it would be nice if our 7th starter wasn't needed, so I agree, please let this be it for Axe in the rotation.

Bronx cheer WELL deserved.

Isn't starting Axe on short rest = a bullpen day? Especially when the bullpen already has 6 other rookies?

They should have just brought up Castro or something

Just frustrating to basically giveaway 2 games due to some shady rotation management. Oh well, hopefully they explode today and win this game.

No need to burn a minor league option on him.

Oh, and I think he's on the DL.
